Could Poldark star Aidan Turner be the next James Bond?
With that being said, we should make one thing abundantly clear: We don’t necessarily think that there is a particularly high chance of it happening. Anyone out there making “odds” for who it will be is mostly just throwing names out there for the heck of it. Given that the latest Bond movie for Daniel Craig isn’t even out yet, everything just feels like wishes, hopes and dreams more so then the studio locking anyone down, so we’re probably still a long time away from any announcement. So, whether you feel like it should be James Norton, Sam Heughan, Idris Elba, Turner, or someone else entirely, seems like everyone is still a possibility. There’s a good chance it could just be an actor you would never even expect as opposed to someone whose name is constantly in the press.
We will go ahead and tell you what Turner had to say about some of the rumors himself, courtesy of the Daily Mail:
“There’s someone else playing the role at the moment, but when it’s free I’ll have a look at it.”
Turner’s philosophy on this subject is pretty much perfect, largely in that he knows this is not something to be transfixed on. He still has a year to go on Poldark, and maybe at that point there will be more meat on this bone. Technically, Poldark is not officially ending with season 5, but that is something that has been hinted in the past.

Season 4 of Poldark should be kicking off soon over on the BBC. It will premiere later this year on PBS.
