Shadowhunters season 3 episode 7 ratings stay fairly steady
With this in mind, we come bearing some information that is probably going to make you smile when it comes to the numbers from season 3 episode 7: They are staying reasonably steady! Overall, Tuesday night’s new episode drew in total a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and, to go along with that, a total of 419,000 total viewers. While this is a small drop in total viewers from the previous episode, it’s close to being even — as a matter of fact, it improved in the demo by a small percentage from the prior week.
Given some of the ratings drops that we have seen at various points in this season already, our clear hope here is that we are seeing the series start to level off or even grow leading into the end of the first half of a season. That should inspire confidence in Freeform that they can look at a season 4 renewal knowing that much of the audience will be there. One of the concerning things about the numbers so far is that Shadowhunters has to date incurred some pretty steep drops from one season to the next and with that, they may be trying to figure out a way in order to make the ratings level off. Are there alternate explanations for some drops? Sure, and we explain some of those in the video below! (If you enjoy this, we suggest that you subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube.)
Ultimately, we know that there are so many other ways of calculating US viewership (including streams, DVR viewers, and people watching On-Demand) that getting a ton of live viewers for a given show does not matter nearly as much as it used to. Nonetheless, it does still put a smile to our face to see the numbers steady themselves out as we start to get closer to the end of season 3A. That makes us all the more positive about the long-term future of the franchise.
