Gotham season 4 episode 20 trailer: Jerome’s wake and other chaos
If you think back to when Jerome first died during the show’s arc in season 2, it was made clear at that point that his death inspired others to continue some of his crazy deeds. Our feeling, at that time, was that the Joker was just one of those minions. However, as it turns out it may be his brother Jeremiah, who has been infused with a special brand of Jerome’s master creation concocted at some point prior to his death. This episode coming up is going to allow for a great opportunity to see this side of Jeremiah really come out for the first time — and it could be very much crazy. It’s just a different sort of crazy than we’ve seen before.
There are pretty clearly two different problems, Jeremiah aside, present in this new promo.
1. What’s going on throughout Gotham with some of Jerome’s followers – These are people who are not coping altogether well with his death and are going to take to the streets and do a lot of what Jerome loves to do the most — cause chaos. They’re also going to flood the GCPD and give Jim Gordon all sorts of trouble.
2. The masked character in the Harlequin mask – Is this Ecco, Jeremiah’s partner and protector? That’s something we’ve already speculated; this is clearly Gotham giving us an homage to Harley Quinn without actually giving us Harley Quinn, so go ahead and thank DC Comics for being so cagey when it comes to allowing that character to appear on some other properties beyond the movies.
