Who is welcome for our Saturday edition of Outlander notes? We’ve got a couple of different stories on this subject right now, the first one notably in regards to Sam Heughan. The series star is going to be taking part in the Stirling Marathon this weekend, which marks the second straight week in which a series star is taking part in such an event.
Sam is running this year for Cahonas Scotland through My Peak Challenge, and the as you can see below, the organization has already set itself up to watch Sam’s progress as he goes along his journey on Sunday! All marathons are grueling, but we certainly think that this is one of the best possible places that you could go for one. It’s beautiful and Scotland in spring feels like the perfect place to be for a run — not that we know that much about running. We just know that you’ve got great scenery and there’s something fun about being able to look around and really embrace all of the sights along the way.
Of course, best of luck to Sam and every other runner taking part! We’re sure we will have some sort of update on the marathon Sunday.

A brief filming update
Not only did filming for the cast and crew continue throughout this past week, but it appears as though they were blessed with some wonderful weather in the process! This was confirmed further in a post on Twitter by executive producer Matthew B. Roberts, who shared the image below — while also suggesting that outdoor filming will continue moving into early next week. The series is definitely in the home stretch at the moment for season 4, which is going to premiere on Starz at some point this fall. Filming should continue for a good month and a half more; hopefully, there will be some more explicit updates coming along the way.
