NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 finale spoilers: Who gets shot?

NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 finale

The final two episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 are airing back to back on Sunday, May 20, and judging from all indications we’re getting at present, this is going to feel like a movie in its own right. This is a little bit different from the recent two-hour finale of Criminal Minds in that these stories are going to be very much linked and, to go along with that, there will be some extreme amounts of danger and drama that run from one hour to the next. There’s a series regular in danger and, to go along with that, the entire story of Mosley and her son from five years ago could come to a head. This is something that was first set up earlier this year and now, we could be getting answers. Everything will culminate in a dangerous trip to Mexico — given that she chose not to stand in their way with Hetty earlier this season, they may be inclined to help her here. As for whether or not that’s a smart thing to do with their own personal safety in mind, let’s just say that this is debatable.

Below, the NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 finale synopsis gives you a little bit more of a sense as to what’s coming up (via SpoilerTV):

“A Line in the Sand” and “Ninguna Salida” — After Sam (LL COOL J) is shot during a firefight with the cartel, a suspect is interrogated and reveals new information on the whereabouts of Spencer Williams (Lamont Thompson), the man who kidnapped Mosley’s (Nia Long) son five years ago. Also, despite several team members having grave reservations, NCIS travels to Mexico for a risky mission to locate and rescue Mosley’s son on the 9th season finale of NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Sunday, May 20 (8:00 – 10:00 PM ET/PT).

There are a couple of interesting things that are not in this synopsis that, understandably, could be the subject of some conversation. For example, we imagine that there may be questions surrounding the Deeks – Kensi wedding. There is no indication that it is coming in the finale and with that in mind, it could be saved for some point in season 10. (We do know, after all, that the show is renewed.) We don’t get a sense of any closure when it comes to the storyline of Deeks wanting to open a bar, either — this was floated on this past episode and we could get more context in another episode coming up. One storyline that we should also get closure on is the one about Anna shooting Sokolov — this could be a key part of episode 22. As you would imagine, there are likely consequences to some of her recent actions.
