The Flash season 4 spoilers: Meet Earth-X Laurel Lance

Earth-X Laurel Lance

There are a couple of notable things about Tuesday night’s new The Flash season 4 episode, but one of the biggest ones could be the arrival of the Earth-X Laurel Lance. This is a different version of the character than we’ve seen before, even if on the surface, she may feel somewhat similar from the Earth-2 version otherwise known as Black Siren. (Black Siren actually first appeared on The Flash before becoming a significant part of Arrow this season.)

So what makes this version of Katie Cassidy’s character different from all of the others? Speaking on this subject further in a new interview with TVLine, show executive producer Todd Helbing had the following to say:

“She’s sort of the last remaining fighter of the Nazi regime, so she’s got a big chip on her shoulder … Her powers [to Black Siren] are pretty similar, but there’s one new thing that she can do with those powers that we’ve never seen any version of her do before.”

If you remember from the Crisis on Earth-X crossover, we already saw Dark Arrow, Dark Flash, and then Overgirl to go along with it. Earth-X Laurel Lance is one of the last remaining remnants here to go along with Leo Snart, who will be turning up on Tuesday’s episode. This could be the last appearance from Wentworth Miller in the Arrowverse, given that the character previously had a rather big part over on Legends of Tomorrow earlier this season. There is still a chance he’ll turn up again but for now, there are no apparent plans to make that happen. We do love Snart, though, so the more ways to bring that character in the happier we’ll be.

All in all, we’ve got a lot of interesting familiar faces coming back on The Flash before the finale, including Katee Sackhoff as Amunet Black and then also Jessica Camacho as Gypsy. In one way or another, all of these characters could eventually tie back into the story of Clifford DeVoe a.k.a. The Thinker, the man who does seem to remain at the moment at the center of everything.
