NCIS season 15: Pauley Perrette reflects, talks future on CBS Sunday Morning
The actress made an appearance this morning on CBS Sunday Morning (watch the video below) to talk a little bit about deciding to leave the show, including her struggles to completely let the show go. Here’s one way that she describes it:
“It makes me sad to imagine a world without Abby in it … I’m still grieving. It feels different every day.”
This entire video is a really fun, fascinating look at the actress, including how Pauley first got started in the industry and also some of her early roles in Almost Famous and in commercials. She also opens up about how she handles the fame that comes with the show, how she’s excited to have a little bit of time off, and how church is not exactly the sort of place to chase down your favorite celebrity. She also claims that Abby “lives forever” thanks to the decision that she made to start a scholarship for people who want to have careers in forensic science. She’s always been charitable and this is another way for her to pay things forward. She knows that her role is an inspiration to so many people who are out there wanting to get involved in a similar career.
As for what lies ahead now, Perrette said that she “loves the work” — she’s absolutely had plenty of offers since departing NCIS, so for the time being it just seems to be about timing and finding the right part for her future. Personally, we’re more than excited to see what that next big role is going to be, but she certainly does not need to hurry to figure that out.
The final episode of NCIS for Perrette airs on CBS Tuesday, May 1. We’ll have some further updates on this subject every step of the way.
