Blue Bloods season 8 episode 19 review: Sean Reagan’s time to shine

Blue Bloods season 8

Blue Bloods season 8 episode 19 proved to be an episode, unsurprisingly, about a number of different stories.

When it comes to Danny and Baez, what they squared off with was a race against time in order to find a little girl who was kidnapped and in need of medication greatly. Yet, the more this case went along, the clearer that it became that things were a little bit more complicated than they seemed — even when it came to the parents having their own interesting role to play.

Eventually, this did become all-hands-on-deck as Danny did everything that he could to ensure that this case was resolved and that he was able to take down one of the bad guys at the heart of the case. Danny did find the girl tucked away and all signs point to her being okay in the end.

To go along with the case tonight Danny had another duty to attend to: Trying to make sure that his son Sean Reagan attended a ceremony by former New York City Mayor David Dinkins that was all about an essay that talked about his family. He didn’t want to do it at first but, in the end, he was convinced to go through with it.

Jamie and Eddie’s suspension

Tonight, we saw the two characters in a really tough bind as they faced a potential 30-day suspension after a car chase that they didn’t want to do — yet, they stood by it as the two decided to fight this in front of a judge.

Eventually, the two did get what they wanted and are going to be able to get back on the force — on the other side of that, they were able to make things right with the man who was originally upset with them over being caught in the crossfire. This is one of those occasions where everything worked out for Jamie and Eddie, mostly because they were willing to fight for it. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any forward movement romantically in this episode — why couldn’t we go ahead and toss that in there after what happened on this past installment?

Bebe Neuwirth returns

It had been a while since we had a chance to see Kelly Peterson on the show and we certainly appreciated the back-and-forth that she had during this episode with Frank. Their relationship remains as complex as ever, and the two very much excel when it comes to trading bars. What the story eventually showed tonight more than anything else was the determination on the part of Frank to get what he wanted. Also, Peterson had some apologizing to do over some of the actions of those who worked under her.

What we will say was this: We were absolutely surprised to see Peterson in this specific role of Corporation Counsel after the work she did previously.
