Blindspot season 3 filming wraps for Sullivan Stapleton, cast

Blindspot season 3 filming wraps

While there may not be any word as of yet on a season 4, know this: Blindspot season 3 filming is now officially complete!

In a new post on Instagram, this news was officially confirmed via star Sullivan Stapleton, who strongly suggested that the show will be back for another go later this year. Is that cautious optimism? Probably so, given that typically networks don’t make decisions on many of their bubble shows so soon. If he’s trying to will it into existence it’s hard to blame him for that. Blindspot is a fun, action-packed show with great characters and danger that is different from what you see elsewhere on TV.

There are many different factors that NBC is going to be looking at when it comes to determining their decision and one thing goes without saying: The expectations are different for Friday night versus other nights of the week. If Blindspot were getting some of the viewership that it is on Fridays on a different night, it is probably fair to say that the series would not be coming back for another season. Yet, for Fridays its ratings may be a little more acceptable. Much of the show’s future will depend on a few different things: Licensing (this is not strictly an NBC show), ratings, DVR performance, and of course streaming data. There are so many ways to monetize a show at this point and our feeling is that Blindspot is going to need all of them to secure its future on the air.

NBC has until May to figure out the future of the series, which conveniently also just so happens to be when the finale is going to air. It’s always preferable for a network to reveal the renewal status of a show prior to the finale airing, mostly so that there is not additional stress on the fans lumped on the story itself. You should be able to focus on cliffhangers more so than a series’ fate.
