30 Rock revival: Jane Krakowski talks interest in having it happen

30 Rock

Is a 30 Rock revival set to be the next one coming down the pipeline? While nothing is confirmed as of right now, there is at least interest on a cast level in trying to find a way in order to bring it back.

Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (while supporting Tina Fey at the opening of Mean Girls on Broadway), series star Jane Krakowski confirmed that a revival is absolutely something that has been talked about:

“[A revival] would be a dream come true. We all had the greatest time on that show … there’s definitely been talk and conversations … We’re still so proud of the writing and the great characters. It was such a success and all of those things were amazing.”

If the revival were to happen, there would be a lot of tricky things to work out. For example, the 30 Rock producing team does have their hands full on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, a show in which Krakowski also has a major role. Meanwhile, Tracy Morgan has a new show in The Last OG while Alec Baldwin constantly has a number of different things going on, and of course Tina Fey remains as prolific of a writer-producer as ever with many different things all happening at the same exact time.

As for whether or not we need a 30 Rock revival the simple answer is no. However, it does feel as though it’s something that could be relevant still today, especially since it’s a workplace comedy that you don’t see all that much of. Plus, seeing how 30 Rock handles modern-day politics could be funny, as would seeing Kenneth continue to climb through the ranks based on what happened to him with the series finale — provided, of course, that someone didn’t just pull a Roseanne and forget about it.
