The Blacklist season 5 episode 18 is set to be airing on NBC Wednesday night and thanks to the sneak peek, we have a sense as to who the title character is in Zarak Mosadek.

In this preview (via SpoilerTV), we learn that Mosadek is a very prominent name in the port manager’s ledger — one that was acquired at the end of this past episode. This ledger is important because the port manager was the go-between for both the Nash Syndicate and their supplier in Afghanistan. Who is this supplier? Think Zarak, a man who runs an opium operation. He is now the latest hope that Reddington has in order to stop Ian Garvey once and for all, or at least in terms of stripping some power from him and working out a trade for those bones.

Reddington claims that Garvey is not your ordinary threat, largely because of the fact that he is not altogether concerned with the idea of an arrest. Instead, if Reddington and Liz can strip him of what he holds dear he’ll start to spiral, become vulnerable, and both parties can have what they so desire. Reddington seems to suggest as though it’s a win-win, but that’s not really the case. He’s more thinking in a linear fashion to get the duffel bag at all costs. He knows its importance (and hopefully we will also know it’s importance by the finale), but what he may not also realize are the some of the seeds of distrust that have been sewn. The longer this lasts and the more likely it could be that this becomes something that causes some genuine damage in the relationship between these two characters.

Granted, we know that it is equally possible that the bones, if discovered and analyzed, could be what kills Reddington and Liz’s relationship more than anything else – it’s all really going to be hinged on who it is that’s in that bag.

What do you think is coming on The Blacklist season 5 episode 18? Do you think that Reddington and Liz are going to be closing in on Garvey soon? Be sure to share right now in the comments!
