Empire season 4 episode 12 spoilers: Robin Roberts guest stars!

Empire season 4 episode 3

Are you excited to see Empire season 4 episode 12 arrive on Fox in one week’s time? We know that we are both in terms of the guest stars and the story. After all, how can you not be psyched to see Robin Roberts on here? The Good Morning America co-host is going to be appearing on the show as herself, as she will be playing host to Jamal for a live interview. We love things like this for a couple of different reasons: It adds credibility to the series to bring in some elements from the real world and, beyond that, it also draws a little more attention to the show. If this was 2016, maybe we’d argue that Empire doesn’t really need any more attention; yet, the ratings have slipped. It’s not going to be canceled anytime soon, but it is also not the behemoth in the numbers that it once was.

If you’re psyched to get some more news beyond just Roberts’ appearance, the synopsis below offers up some insight:

A Lyon health scare shakes up Empire, as Cookie holds down the fort, in spite of it all. Both Andre and Jamal try to right their wrongs, and Jamal makes a shocking revelation on live TV with Robin Roberts (guest-starring as herself). Eager to take Empire to new heights, Eddie’s motives are questioned when numbers don’t add up. Meanwhile, Hakeem and Tiana find common ground and Becky reveals the secret she’s been keeping from J. Poppa in the all-new “Sweet Sorrow” episode of EMPIRE airing Wednesday, April 11 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (EMP-412) (TV-14 D, L, V)

As per usual with Empire there’s a lot going on here, but in the midst of everything one familiar refrain remains: Cookie perseveres. She just rescued Lucious from the brink and she’s still finding a way to fight on and doing some of what she does best. (Side note: Hoe many health scares is Empire really going to present by the end of the series? Is there a point where we actually get to too many? Serious question.)

Probably the best thing to think about when it comes to this Empire episode actually doesn’t have that much directly to do with the episode itself. Instead, it’s tied a little bit more to the fact that there are still six more episodes on the other side to enjoy.
