April 1 proved to be a very fantastic day for all fans of Wynonna Earp, and not because of a cruel April Fools’ Day joke or anything of the sort. Instead, the day marked the two-year anniversary of the series first premiering on Syfy.
What’s to love about that? Well, quite a bit. What Wynonna Earp represents is more than just an ordinary TV show. It’s a celebration of fascinating, dynamic characters — it’s inspiring at times, hilarious at others, and above all else it’s entertaining every second that it’s on the air. We’ve seen these characters go through all sorts of hell; yet, they have constantly found their way through. We’ve seen Wynonna tackle many a foe just as we’ve also had a chance to see the relationship between Waverly and Nicole blossom over time.
Ratings-wise, Wynonna Earp has always been an underdog story. When you look at the pure live+same-day ratings alone, it’s pretty clear that this isn’t one of the top-rated shows on TV. Yet, the viewers who are watching are some of the most passionate fans out there. These are viewers who will watch the show through thick and then and remain as invested as ever in the journey of some of these characters. They’re the reason why the series trends often with every new episode, just as they are also the reason why you see Wynonna Earp winning many fan polls. They’re the reason that Syfy remains so committed to the series.
So what is going to be coming up next for Wynonna Earp? Hopefully, there is going to be a chance to see a few different things worth getting excited about. Now that we know officially that the third season is premiering this summer, we’re hoping that there are going to be some opportunities to see an official promo at some point in the next month or so. Following that, maybe we’ll get a trailer and a premiere-date announcement. Without Wynonna Earp the summer wouldn’t be the same; with that, we definitely hope it’s back on the air soon.
