Should Outlander season 4 come to San Diego Comic-Con?
We have just entered the month of April, and one of the biggest surprises right now is that we haven’t heard anything definitely when it comes to Outlander and San Diego Comic-Con this summer.
Could we be looking at a year without the show being represented? It’s possible, mostly because the cast already has a busy convention schedule elsewhere and there could be a feeling that this is enough. Also, it’s not like Outlander at Comic-Con has been a tradition every single year — though we would personally love for it to be the case. This is one of the best venues out there for promotion just because you have so many media outlets all in the same place and it allows you the chance to do many different things, whether it be release a trailer or do something big like what happened last year with the entire premiere episode airing for the first time for everyone in attendance. Outlander is a series that could certainly benefit more from this bump in promotion.
Does it necessarily need the promotion, though? Not so much, and this may be one of the considerations here. When you think about a show like Outlander, you know that it’s going to have big viewership no matter what. Heading to Comic-Con at this point is mostly just a gift to the fans who support the series and everything that it’s about.
Anticipate a firm decision on Outlander attending the convention at some point over the next couple of months, as many of the schedules still start to be finalized up a little bit more. For now, the cast and crew do have some other clear priorities as they look to complete filming for the fourth season in Scotland. Things have been very quiet when it comes to production as of late, but hopefully that will change as the weather warms up and there are likely to be a few more exterior sequences shot.
