Back when some of the first information started to trickle in about Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 18 entitled “Service,” it was pretty easy to speculate at that moment that the military was going to be at the center of the story. Based on the preliminary details, that is confirmed — and we also understand more of what the challenge is going to be for the team: Targeting someone who is considered on paper to be a hero. Serving the country doesn’t allow you to commit rape or any other unspeakable crime, and men and women in uniform should be held to the same exact standard as everyone else that is out there.

Below, the SVU season 19 episode 18 synopsis offers up some other information regarding what is going to be coming up next:

04/11/2018 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : The SVU must break through military red tape when a soldier is suspected of sexual assault. Starring Mariska Hargitay, Ice T, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Philip Winchester. Guest starring Christopher Wiehl, Marquise Vilson, Timothy Adams, Jack DiFalco, Morgan Taylor Campbell and Wayne Knight.

Overall, what we are anticipating within this episode is one in which there are roadblocks for almost every turn for the team, especially as some of the additional circumstances of this case start to come out. For example, signs point at the moment to this being a case where the victim is an escort, which unfortunately is going to lead to even more bias and difficulty. We know that no team is better for tackling some of these issues than the SVU, but how they choose to go about the investigation still remains a mystery. For now, the writers/producers are keeping everything for the most part fairly hush-hush.
