Should Jared return for The Good Doctor season 2?

As we start to look ahead now towards The Good Doctor season 2, there are many important questions to have — with one of the biggest ones being, of course, about the fate of Jared. Is he really going to leave for Denver?

While we did get the cliffhanger at the end of the finale featuring Shaun and Dr. Glassman paying Dr. Andrews a visit, it feels pretty darn clear that they’re both still going to be around the hospital in some form. While Glassman may end up becoming more of a patient in season 2, we certainly cannot imagine that this show is going to fire off Shaun.

The bigger loose thread here for is Jared just because of the position that he’s been put into to date — his past with Dr. Coyle is well-documented and Dr. Andrews has laid down the hammer on him before. That is what led to him looking to leave for somewhere else in the first place. He also isn’t romantically attached to Claire anymore, and on paper, there’s not that much holding him at the hospital — other than that he knows these people really well and cares about him on some level.

Speaking to TVLine, show executive producer David Shore would not confirm Jared’s return one way or another right now, so this is one question that producers are going to leave you wondering for a little while longer. Given that doctors do change jobs, we’re not 100% sold on the idea him coming back. We’d like to see more of him, but there are clearly some cases to be made for shaking things up and keeping things fairly realistic to the real medical world where hospitals often employ different employ and things do have a tendency to shift around.
