NCIS season 15 episode 18 video: Why isn’t Gibbs reading Ducky’s book?

Mark Harmon - NCIS season 15 episode 18

After having a short break NCIS season 15 episode 18 is airing on CBS Tuesday night, and judging from the sneak peek that CarterMatt has for you below (titled “Death From Above”) it’s going to be a perfect combination of fun and the bizarre. The majority of the time with this show, we end up seeing the NCIS team have to leave the office in order to find dead bodies. However, in this case the body comes to them — and on the roof, no less!

The arrival of the dead body is going to lead to a larger, frenzied investigation, and it’s one that could lead to much of the office being evacuated.

Before the moment where the team realizes that there is trouble, there is also another moment within this sneak peek that is far more comedic in nature. Ducky has given the NCIS team the first draft of his book and with that, there are some divided opinions. Bishop and McGee, for example, seem to be completely engaged when it comes to what’s within the book. Yet, at the same time Torres is completely disengaged from it and didn’t bother to read it. It feels somewhat like a missed opportunity here — wouldn’t it be funny if Torres was a complete nerd about this and obsessed with it?

The larger surprise here is that Gibbs hasn’t read it at all yet, which is somewhat of a shame given the fact that Ducky does want some notes on it before turning in another draft and he respects what Gibbs thinks. It does seem to be a pretty interesting page-turner — if we were the NCIS team we do think as though we’d be interested in reading it!

Hopefully, as this episode goes along there are going to be some more opportunities to hear tidbits from the book — we also like the idea of him becoming a star in the literary world by the end of the season.
