Outlander season 4: See a new behind-the-scenes Sam Heughan photo

If you are excited for Outlander season 4 and cherish every tidbit released by Starz, odds are you’re going to love what the network did today! If you look towards the bottom of this CarterMatt article, you can see a new behind-the-scenes image featuring Sam Heughan, getting set to film another scene as his famed character of Jamie Fraser.

In season 4, Jamie is going to be in a completely new world and there is much to be excited about with that — until now, he’s largely been in places where he has some sort of geographic comfort. Now, he’s in far more uncharted territory. While he may have family present there in the form of Aunt Jocasta, this is a little different from Jared Fraser in France or from the rest of his clan in Scotland. It’s a completely new place that is still trying to establish itself. The existence of the New World is still a concept that many in Scotland and all of Europe is still getting accustomed to. Things are about to erupt with the Revolutionary War on the horizon, but the series isn’t quite there yet. Seeing some of the tension escalate is going to be in part what makes season 4 and beyond so intriguing.

As you would imagine, everything within this photo seems to be on-point for what this world should be, whether it be Terry Dresbach’s costumes or Jon Gary Steele’s production design. Before seeing the fantastic performances, everything really begins with getting a chance to see the foundation for the world. The world now, at least for Jamie and Claire, is North Carolina and the surrounding area. Filming is taking place in Scotland yet again this season, and there will be scenes set in Scotland itself on occasion.

The fourth season of Outlander will premiere on Starz a little bit later this year, and hopefully we’ll see a continuance of teases throughout the months ahead, whether they come in the form of new photos, a teaser, or a proper trailer (which we personally do not expect to see until we roll around to the summer).
