Richard Schiff isn’t leaving The Good Doctor … at least with the finale
In speaking on the devastating subject of Dr. Glassman’s diagnosis recently to TV Guide, show executive producer David Shore had the following to say:
“We want you to worry. He’s not going to be dead by the end of the last episode…As I do with all the challenges on the show, I want to treat them seriously. I want them to be real crises for our people and to deal with them. I love Richard Schiff and I want to keep him on the show for a while, though. I’ll say that.”
This diagnosis is going to hit a number of the other doctors hard, as Glassman is everything from a friend to mentor to so many of them. One of the largest problems of all could come for Shaun, who hasn’t had to grasp with something of this magnitude since starting his work at the hospital on the series. It’s going to be a difficult thing for him to have to deal with and based on the sneak peek that we have already seen for the finale, there are going to be struggles with him when it comes to grasping and handling the news that has been put before him. This, in turn, could lead to him making some sort of devastating mistake while out in the field that puts his future into a certain degree of jeopardy.
In the end, you should be worried about what’s coming next for Dr. Glassman on The Good Doctor finale — but you should also be equally worried about Shaun.
