iZombie season 4 casts Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom

Robert KnepperJust in case you wanted an additional reason to be excited about iZombie season 4, here it is: The CW series is officially bringing on board Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Rachel Bloom for a guest spot! With production on her show done at the moment and with the show’s future as a whole currently unclear, she does have the time for now to guest star.

Here is what we know for the time being about this gig: Bloom is going to appear next month (per TVLine) in an episode as a theater actor who has a knack for being completely over-the-top. The character dies, and with that Liv and Clive are on the case. This may just be a small cameo, but even with that in mind it could still be a really entertaining one.

If there is one thing that we really do want to see it’s simply this: An opportunity to see Rose McIver try to act like Rachel Bloom, if Liv just so happens to eat this particular brain. This could be a rather fantastic bit of comedy that could elevate the show to a different level — and also make iZombie a little bit more meta than it typically is. Who doesn’t want to get a little bit of that mixed in here?

iZombie still has many more weeks to go this season and we wish that there were opportunities for some other CW stars to stop by. Unfortunately, most of the superhero show actors are going to be working in Vancouver still for many more weeks and aren’t quite going to get that opportunity. Also, iZombie already wrapped up filming for this season.

Once there is a little bit more news to share on the subject of whatever is coming up on iZombie, we will have some of that for you here.
