If you love Friday Night Lights or Hart of Dixie, you’re going to be very happy to hear that Scott Porter has reportedly signed on to do an episode of Law & Order: SVU season 19.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Porter is going to be appearing in the upcoming April 18 episode of the NBC series as a husband whose wife and daughter end up missing. Is he involved in that in some way? That’s obviously one of the questions that the team over at the Special Victims Unit is going to have to figure out. This is the same episode that is featuring the return of Stephanie March as Cabot, so really there is a double-dose of exciting news to report on at the moment when it comes to this episode.

Porter is one of those actors who we always want to see more of on TV, especially since it’s been a little while since we’ve seen him in a series-regular gig. He did recur recently on Scorpion in the role of Paige love interest Tim Armstrong, and he also appeared in a number of episodes of Outcast. This season of SVU has done a good job in general of assembling great guest stars, but that’s really a compliment that we could pay to almost every season of this show. Time and time again, they have a really great habit of finding interesting people for some of their complicated roles.

Hopefully, at some point over the next few weeks we’ll hear more about some additional guest stars, and also hopefully the finale to go along with it since it would be great to get a little bit more insight into whatever is going to be coming up with that.
