Hawaii Five-0 season 8 spoilers: Terry O’Quinn poised to return
According to a new report coming in courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, O’Quinn will be appearing once more in the penultimate episode of this season as Joe white. This marks the first appearance for the actor on the series since 2015, so it’s certainly rather nice to have him back. The Lost alum has been rather busy in the interim, appearing on such shows as Castle Rock, The Blacklist: Redemption, and Secrets and Lies.
As for how the character is going to be coming back, it starts off with Junior Reigns getting some information from some of his Navy SEAL colleagues that Joe is in some danger. The moment that happens, Steve teams up with Junior and his SEAL unit in order to figure out where he is and help him. There is going to be a rather interesting full-circle nature to this case, mostly because McGarrett remembers a time in which Joe saved his own life. Over the course of this episode there will be flashbacks to that very thing.
This marks the second major occasion coming up on Hawaii Five-0 in which a major character from the past is coming back. We recently reported that former series regular Michelle Borth is going to be reprising her own role as Catherine Rollins coming up next month. We are absolutely going to encourage even more appearances from former series stars whenever the writers see fit, largely because it does add very much to the overall tapestry of the series and precisely what makes it so special. There are probably four or five other former cast members / recurring players we’d love to see back, but that may be a better topic for an article during the off-season.
