The Good Doctor finale spoilers: Can Shaun recover from devastation?

It’s sad to think about, but The Good Doctor finale is going to be coming up on ABC in one week’s time. We are going to have a chance to really put a pin on this season, and we imagine that it will contain a little bit of everything that we’ve come to appreciate about the series since it first began. There will be some, there will be a little bit of heartbreak, and hopefully, there is also going to be hope. We really need that based on how tonight’s episode ended with Dr. Glassman’s life in jeopardy!

Will there be a cliffhanger? We have to think that it’s possible, given that this is a series that has presented many a devastating surprise before. There’s no reason to think that they will tie up every little loose end in a bow. (Remember, it was renewed for a second season a while back, and we certainly think that producers know it would be coming back at the time in which the finale was written.)

The team at St. Bonaventure needs to quickly discover the truth behind a young college student’s unexplained injuries before his condition worsens. Meanwhile, after losing his most prized possession, Shaun’s distraction during a surgical procedure may end up risking more than just his job.

Much of the first season to date has been about Dr. Shaun Murphy discovering both himself and also the world around him. As we approach the finale, he’s going to be tested perhaps more now than he has ever been to date. This is the real measure of who he is, how good of a doctor he is, and the person he is set to become from here. We want to see him happy, but we also understand that there need to be setbacks. We just wish that it wasn’t one this big.
