Outlander star Sam Heughan offering behind-the-scenes look at Emmy event
In a post on Twitter (see below) Sam Heughan confirmed that he will be doing an Instagram Story takeover on Sunday — no specific start time was mentioned, but the Emmy panel itself is potentially set to start at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. The purpose of the panel is fairly simple: To offer up more information to Emmy voters about the series, the performances, and the work that goes in behind the scenes. The series itself should be strongly considered once more as a drama series, and the same goes for stars Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. We’re also really happy that production designer Jon Gary Steele is going to be in attendance given that his work absolutely merits recognition, as well.
Keep your eyes peeled for some of the stories throughout the day and hopefully there will be a number of photos also posted on Instagram proper for viewing after the fact. We know that the next couple of days are going to be a pretty busy time for the Outlander team as they do a number of different interviews and take advantage of being in the press hub that is Los Angeles. Eventually, everyone will work their way back to Scotland as there are still a few months, give or take, to go until filming is done. At the time in which production is starting to wrap up, that will be in the heart of Emmy campaign season. We’ve said it before that if we had it our way, everyone mentioned above would receive a nomination. Yet, the ball is in the court of Emmy voters and we hope that the ever-increasing audience of the show, coupled with events like these and Balfe’s previous Golden Globe nominations, all end up playing a major part in making more nods happen.
