Will the Designated Survivor season 2 finale kill off another character?

Designated Survivor season 2 finale

Just when you were starting to get over what happened to Alex Kirkman on Designated Survivor season 2 (provided that you were), there is now this news to report: Another character could fall at some point by the end of the season.

According to a new report coming in right now via TVLine, the upcoming finale is going to feature an actual hurricane coming into the Washington DC area — and death could come along with it. We don’t think that we have to say all that much in terms of what this could mean to some of the residents of the city: Chaos. Beyond that, possible death. This is the sort of thing that could change or alter the show in a way that is almost as dramatic as what happened to Alex … depending on if there actually is anyone killed off during it and also if the series even returns for a third season.

At this very moment, our initial reaction to learning that there could be a Designated Survivor finale cliffhanger is one of bewilderment, especially since the show’s ratings woes have been present there for a while. We know that delivering big mysteries and surprising moments is a huge part of the Designated Survivor DNA but at the same time, the writers had to know on some level that the show was in danger when they were writing the final episodes, right? Maybe this is their way of trying to dare ABC into giving them another season. Beyond that, it is still somewhat difficult to adequately determine precisely what’s going on here unless this is all misdirection and we are going to end up with a fairly conclusive finale in the end, anyway.
