This Is Us season 3 premiere date hopes: When will it be back?
First of all, remember that there is a This Is Us season 3 officially coming to NBC, and also that this was formally decided quite a long time ago. The network made the decision to bring the series back for more back during season 1 when it quickly became one of the newest scripted hits in recent memory. Almost from the moment the trailer blew up on Facebook following the 2016 upfronts, it was clear that the network had something special on their hands.
In starting to think more about possible season 3 premiere dates, one of the first things to keep in mind is that with this being an anchor show for NBC, they’re not going to want to hold off on launching it past the first official week of the fall season. While there is no specific date confirmed for that yet, Tuesday, September 25 seems to be the most-likely premiere date just because there isn’t really another suitable launch week apparent based on the way in which the schedule falls this year. If the show premieres then you will probably get a chance to see at least the first nine or ten episodes in the fall, and then a run in the winter that potentially finishes the series off even earlier in the year than season 2. One of the things that complicated the season 2 schedule to a certain degree was the Olympics falling in February. Without the Games around, there’s a chance that there could be fewer interruptions between episodes … or at least we hope so given that this never does a show like this any good.
NBC should confirm the This Is Us season 3 premiere date a little bit later this year, potentially in early summer. They’ll confirm the schedule at the upfront presentation this year, but there’s a very minimal chance that they would even consider moving the series away from its current Tuesday timeslot where it performs so well. Don’t wreck something when it’s working!
