Hijack season 3 renewal: A July 2026 update

As we get closer to the end of July, it does feel fair to wonder one thing about Hijack with Idris Elba — what does the future hold? We are now months removed from the season 2 finale and yet, very little is being said regarding the future.

For the time being, the frustrating thing is that Apple TV has yet to say anything regarding the future of the show. The second season did offer some closure but at the same time, more questions. Is Sam Nelson going to face serious repercussions for what happened at the end of season 2? Meanwhile, is the story with Stuart truly done? This is just a small spattering of questions that could be answered in the event the show does come back for more.

Do we tend to think an announcement is imminent? Not really. Because there are just a small handful of actors essential to a show like Hijack, they can be brought back at any given time. Really, a good bit of the future here simply comes down to when there is a proper story in place and beyond just that, whether or not the streaming service wants more. That could go either way.

The biggest question we have

Honestly, this is not altogether complicated: What sort of setting could the show move to for another season? We would love to get out of the darkness of that subway and onto some sort of ship; or, maybe you make it into a hostage situation on a stationary object or building. There are still a lot of possibilities and given that this is television, it really is not that important (at least to us) how realistic it is.
