The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3 episode 2 preview: More change?

Following the premiere this week, what more can we expect heading into The Walking Dead: Dead City season 3 episode 2?
Before we even dive too far into what is to come, can we just go ahead and state that this show has done a rather nice job resetting itself? There were a lot of understandable criticisms for the second season, with a big one being that a lot of major characters felt stuck in ruts. Through one episode, season 3 at least appears more fun. There is a reset of sorts and a number of new supporting characters being thrown into the mix.

While there are not too many specific details out there as of yet regarding episode 2, we do know that the folks at the network are plotting at least some changes. Take, for starters, the simple fact that you are going to see some experimentation within the story. We are going to get an alternate-history episode moving forward that will feature Emily Kinney coming back as Beth. Meanwhile, we do imagine more changes ahead when it comes to the relationship with Negan and Maggie. Will they be best friends moving forward? Hardly, but we do think it will be fun to see things shift for the two of them.
Given that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is going to be ending after this upcoming season, this does certainly put more pressure on the Jeffrey Dean Morgan – Lauren Cohan show to deliver. Let’s hope that it can and, beyond just that, show that there is still some uniqueness and life in this franchise despite it being on the air for such a long period of time.
