Lucifer season 3 episode 18 preview: ‘The Last Heartbreak’

Lucifer season 3 episode 18 carries with it the title of “The Last Heartbreak” and when you first look at this story, there is certainly something about it that does feel rather sad. After all, this episode could be a reminder of just how long Marcus Pierce has walked along this earth. He may not be the best guy or even a good guy; yet, there is something interesting that comes with exploring this character via his immortality. Being stuck in the land of the living for this long has to come with a wide array of different psychological issues and we really hope that the series starts to dive in and explore some of them.

Below, the Lucifer season 3 episode 18 synopsis offers up more of a sense as to what some of these issues over the course of this episode are going to be.

As Chloe and Lucifer go on the hunt for a serial killer targeting couples in love, Pierce realizes the case is connected to a murder he previously solved…in 1958. Then, Lucifer becomes upset when Pierce has a change of heart about an important decision in the all-new “The Last Heartbreak” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, March 19 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

How useful can some of the other characters be for Marcus when he’s looking at a case this far in the past? Consider that one of the questions that we’re asking leading up to this episode … with of course another question being how this is all going to play out and how he’s going to get evidence in the first place. This feels like one of the most Cain-specific episodes of the season and it should prove interesting seeing how this plays out … and then also what the relationship between Cain and Lucifer is like at the end of it. He’s already determined that he is no longer going to be working with him, but could this sour to yet another level?
