Lucifer season 3 episode 17 video: Tom Ellis sings again!
As the video below (via TVLine) reveals, Lucifer Morningstar finds himself in the midst of a sing-off in season 3 episode 17 with a pop star who the police are trying to keep protected from trouble. The problem is that this pop star, like many others out there, is temperamental and not altogether interested in following some of the orders put upon her. She just has to keep performing, which leads to Lucifer challenging her and accidentally getting caught up in a vocal duel set to “I Will Survive.”
If this were a different show, maybe it’d be a little more implausible that we were continuing to see Lucifer time and time again in some of these situations. Yet, on a show like this it’s pretty much perfect and a guy who is as confident and charismatic as Lucifer Morningstar would have zero issue with melting out a tune here or there — he would be very confident in his ability to hit all of the notes and would have zero issue standing up on stage and performing. What we are seeing here is, by and large, mostly a reflection of what we would have expected from a man like Lucifer in the first place. It’s perfect for this scene and for the comedy of this episode.
The more recurring music we get on Lucifer, the better — especially if it comes as a means to further along the story in some bizarre way. (We personally do feel like Lucifer using the “Eternal Flame” duet as a means of ensuring that the team catches a suspect was one of most brilliant ideas that the character’s ever come up with.) There are certainly numbers that have happened on the show that we haven’t even mentioned here.
