Blue Bloods season 8: Where is Jamie Reagan?

Blue Bloods season 8

There are many questions that we often wonder when it comes to Blue Bloods season 8, but this is one we keep asking time and time again: Where is Jamie Reagan? Beyond that, we also have another one: Why in the world is the character missing so often?

In thinking about this question, one of the first things that you have to consider here is that he is still turning up in Reagan family dinner scenes. With that in mind, you technically don’t have to worry about whether or not Will Estes is gone from the show altogether. Yet, at the same time we have seen a reduced presence in both Jamie and Eddie (Vanessa Ray) really over the course of the past year. It is enough to make you a little bit worried about their long-term presence on the future.

For now, though, the good news is this: There is no evidence that either party is leaving the show in the near future. Ideally, it would be great to have Jamie back on the show more regularly; even if that doesn’t happen, though, we could still continue to see the character in the way in which we are now for the remainder of the series.

There have been many theories as to why Jamie and Eddie have received a little more limited screen time, but ultimately the reasoning doesn’t matter. We just hope that it changes moving into the future. A bit part of the appeal of Blue Bloods is that you are seeing law enforcement through a series of different lenses, and that of course includes the lens of cops out on the street. That’s a big part of what makes Jamie great as a part of the show. (You could make the argument that we’re specifically missing Jamie at this point in the story because of the colder weather on the streets of New York — if Estes is only contracted for so many episodes plus family dinners, it makes sense to not have him when it’s harder to shoot.)
