Scorpion season 4 episode 18 review: Happy, Toby’s quest for a baby
Scorpion season 4 episode 18 spent a good bit of its run time hyping up the possibility that maybe — maybe — we could see Happy pregnant by the end of the episode. After everything that she and Toby went through, didn’t we really deserve that chance?
Well, there was a lot of story that we had to get through before even arriving to that point in the episode, and that included getting an opportunity to see some traditional Scorpion action — which began with Walter and Toby being at the center of a bank robbery. This was crazy, this was intense, and it was very much just about survival. Toby started off the day excited about the opportunity to get a little bit closer to impregnating his wife. At the end of the day, he had to figure out a way to rush himself to the clinic in time to deliver the goods to Happy — while also saving the day.
Toby literally arrived in 30 seconds before his time was up, which was enough time for the two of them to start to have hope for their future. While it’s probably going to take a little bit of time in order to know whether or not the two are having a baby, it seems as though they’ve taken the right steps towards making it happen. That’s the satisfaction that we leave this episode with at the moment. We’ll just have to see if there is anything more that is going to come our way on the other side of this.
As for the other storyline at the heart of the episode, Sylvester was ready to have a date with Florence … with the one problem there being that she didn’t realize that it was a date. He had made what he thought was a big romantic gesture … but clearly, she didn’t feel the same way, or wasn’t put into a position where she could think about things in that sort of context. Poor Sylvester! Luckily, we figure that there is still plenty of time in order for some of his feelings to be worked out this season. Let’s just hope that it happens.

Scorpion season 4 episode 18 was fun, and it did push the storyline of Happy and Toby forward in a meaningful way. We do wish at this point in the season, though, that there was a little more Scorpion geekery, mostly because the show has become so relationship-focused and probably needs something else to balance it out.
