Outlander season 4 casting call in Canada proves very popular
So, how popular were they? Let’s just say that there were more than enough people present to try to land one of the 120 spots to help film at least one upcoming episode in late May or early June. According to a local publication in Sudbury, Saturday’s auditions proved to be so popular that the casting call stopped taking on new applications earlier in the afternoon than they first planned.
Are we surprised by this? Not in the slightest. There was a tremendous amount of press for the auditions leading up to them happening, and it also probably helps that Sudbury is a doable drive from Toronto. Not only did you have a chance to get auditions here from some local communities with a larger First Nations population, but there were also people from the Greater Toronto Area who were able to come in. We feel like producers are going to have plenty of opportunities in order to find some of the people that they want for the sake of these scenes. There have been other auditions happening today in North Bay; maybe there will be more updates happening there soon.

We do love seeing so much enthusiasm for this background work, especially since these are not speaking roles and there’s not even any guarantee that you will have screen time. Nonetheless, this has allowed us a chance to have something to be excited about in a time where there hasn’t been that much going on with Outlander. Due to the inclement weather at the moment in Scotland (there was a HUGE snowstorm there earlier in the week), there hasn’t been all that much to discuss there.
Don’t worry, though — we do have another character questions piece hopefully coming later today. Our schedule has been thrown off slightly, largely because of the Oscars.
