NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 spoilers: True Blood alum set to appear

While there isn’t another NCIS: Los Angeles episode airing for one more week on CBS, why wait before getting some of the latest guest-starring news?

According to a new report coming in right now via Entertainment Weekly, True Blood / Crazy Ex-Girlfriend actor Michael McMillan is going to be appearing on an upcoming episode set to air this spring over on CBS. As for who he is playing, think in terms of a brilliant flight supervisor for a rocket and spacecraft company (think in terms of SpaceX) by the name of Donald Jenkins. He’s a brilliant guy, but he is going to find himself in a bit of trouble when one of his rockets — one apparently carrying a “top-secret payload” — crashes within the Los Padres forest and it’s hard to figure out why. As a result of this, the entire team is going to be forced to question Donald and those who work for him –they may know something more than they make it clear at first.

There’s a fun connection between McMillan and the NCIS franchise at large — this is not his first appearance within it! Just two years ago, he appeared in an episode of the flagship series as David Kemmons during the “Love Boat” episode. It’s not altogether unusual for the same actor to play a series of different characters within the same universe, as it happens fairly often with the Law & Order franchise. Yet, it is somewhat unusual for it to happen within as short of a period of time as it seems to be happening here. It wasn’t all that long ago that he last appeared on the other show.

NCIS: Los Angeles’ return on March 11 will be with the all-important episode that revolves around the search for Hetty — if you are interested in seeing a trailer all about that, be sure to visit the link here. We’ve said it before, but this episode is easily the most important of the entire season when it comes to resetting what the landscape of it is going to look like.
