This Is Us season 2 cast wraps filming; Milo Ventimiglia excited for season 3
In a new post on Twitter, series star Milo Ventimiglia confirmed the great news on Saturday, saying as well that he was excited to be coming back for season 3. Consider that great news — not that we think that this is much of a surprise. While we saw Jack’s death already, there is absolutely more story still to tell with this character. We’ve got years’ worth of history! While we are still worried that eventually, a time will come when there are less stories to tell with Jack, we are luckily not at that point just yet and there are still some interesting things worth diving into when it comes to that character and his history. Take, for example, his military history — otherwise known as one of the few times in which Jack doesn’t have the mustache and can appear many years younger as a result.

Throughout season 2 there has been zero drama when it comes to a possible This Is Us season 3, mostly because of the fact that NBC renewed the show for a season 3 all the way back in the winter of 2017 at the TCA Press Tour. They knew what they had all the way back then and as a result of that, there was not all that much of a reason to worry about the show’s future. Now that we are nearing season 3, it feels like you can go ahead and call season 4 a near lock. The only reason we don’t end up getting that is in the event the ratings somehow fall off a cliff or the writers decide that there isn’t any more story to tell. It doesn’t feel as though either one of those things are going to happen anytime soon.
For now, a toast to the This Is Us cast for all of their hard work! They will be back this summer in order to start work on season 3.
