Roseanne Barr shades Fergie’s NBA All-Star Game National Anthem

Here’s what we consider to be rock bottom when it comes to National Anthem performances — when you’re getting some shade thrown at you from Roseanne, you know that things aren’t going all that great.

In a new post on Twitter, Roseanne Barr commented on Fergie’s own Anthem performance from the NBA All-Star Game, joking that hers was “better lowkey.” As for whether or not that’s true … no. It’s not true. Fergie’s rendition was bad, but at least Fergie can sing. We still don’t think her vocals were terrible but her arrangement completely butchered them. Roseanne, meanwhile, was just terrible all around — but at least she has a sense of humor about it.

(Yep, we did just spend probably way more time than we should have touching on something as silly as a “who did it better?” when it comes to National Anthem performances.)

The part of Fergie’s performance that, in our mind, made it a little bit more embarrassing were the reactions from some people in the audience. You could see some of the players, including Draymond Green, struggling to keep it together as she finished the song.

For the sake of reference, we’ve included the two videos below so that you can render your own verdict, if you choose. You would think that no one would want to listen to either one of them again, but here we are.

To go along with all of this…

We’ve also included some of our own insight on the performance (see above) in the aftermath of when it happened. Unfortunately for Fergie, we don’t envision that she is going to be handed down too many more opportunities to perform the National Anthem in the future. We’re just a little bummed out that she’s not even commenting on it. At this point, you’re probably better off embracing it than just pretending like it didn’t happen.

Who do you think was better, Roseanne or Fergie? Be sure to share in the comments below!
