The Bachelor spoilers: Kendall Long’s twin; Lauren Burnham’s parents front and center

Kendall Long's twin

The Bachelor on Monday night is bringing you hometown dates; basically, it’s one of the few times of the year when the show take you by surprise. At this point in the season, often the contestants have been filtered into whatever production wants for them to be — it’s the end product of spending so much time on-camera and having nothing to focus on other than Arie Luyendyk Jr. for the majority of the past several weeks.

Families, however, don’t know Arie from anything. The only thing that they know is that they are getting a chance to see their child alongside someone they haven’t really seen all that much of. With that in mind, they’ve got pretty much zero problem speaking their mind. Sometimes that can work in Arie’s favor, whereas in some others it could work strongly against him.

We think that the two examples below, via ABC’s press release for the episode, demonstrate this almost perfectly.

Kendall Long – “Kendall introduces Arie to her passion: taxidermy; but oddly, it becomes a romantic, if quirky, date. Her family worries that this analytical, unconventional bachelorette may not be able to fall in love, casting doubt on the couple’s relationship. A talk with her identical twin sister convinces Kendall to let her walls down and let Arie in for the first time. But will it be too little, too late?”

For those who don’t know Kendall Long’s twin is named Kylie, and we’re sure that they’ve heard that joke a thousand times. One of the things that should be interesting about Kylie’s appearance here is that she should know the truth about Kendall more so than anyone. She should be able to figure out just how she is feeling and, in turn, whether or not her sister is really in love.

Lauren Burnham – “Arie’s final hometown date with Lauren B. is his biggest test yet. Both this woman’s father and mother have a rude awakening in store for Arie. Her intimidating military father lays on the pressure and her mom, the real taskmaster, questions his future plans. Arie becomes overwhelmed with stress at the family dinner and must leave the table. Can he convince them that his intentions are sincere, or is this the end of the road for this couple?”

This, however, just screams drama and possibly bad news for Lauren if Arie feels too intimidated by her parents. We’ve certainly seen bad hometown dates doom women in the past!
