Looking at The X-Files season 11 episode 8, the finale, and more
Want to check out some more news regarding The X-Files season 11 episode 8? This may very well be the last monster-of-the-week episode of the entire series, so it’s probably a good thing to know that in advance.
While you do wait for this episode to air, let’s go ahead and share the official synopsis for it now:
Mulder and Scully investigate the brutal animal attack of a little boy in Connecticut, while suspecting darker forces are at play in the all-new “Familiar” episode of THE X-FILES airing Wednesday, March 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), on FOX.
Obviously, Fox is not giving you a whole lot to discuss here in advance, not that this should really surprise anyone out there. With this being so close to the end of the run there’s very little reason to give anything more away, especially in the event that this episode actually does end up being about something much more than it appears on the surface.
Looking beyond this episode
The X-Files season 11 episode 9 is entitled “Nothing Lasts Forever,” and just seeing those words written out are probably enough to send a death-blow into the hearts of many fans out there. Meanwhile, the finale is entitled “My Struggle IV,” which is clearly connecting it to the three prior in the series. We’d almost switch these two titles around — or, just not connect the “My Struggle” episodes by name anymore since it’s not such a popular series in the first place. While Part 3 was better than either part that aired during season 10, it’s still far from the best episode this season.
There’s been a lot of talk already about Gillian Anderson’s departure and what that means / whether or not there will be any more of the series beyond that. For now, we’re just happy to see the rest of the story through and enjoy some of what lies ahead as it comes.
