Outlander season 4 notes: Rollo takes center stage; Emmy talk video

Rollo

For everyone out there looking forward to a little bit of Rollo on Outlander season 4, isn’t this new image the perfect way to smile moving into the new season?

The photo below comes courtesy of Starz, and it is the first official image of Young Ian’s beloved dog since the two puppies “cast” for the role were shown off early this year. Obviously, Rollo has grown up! It took months to train the dogs leading up to the start of filming, so this was a process that had to begin far in advance.

While Rollo may not have any dialogue, we like to think that the dog is a valuable character in the story — also, dogs are amazing and if there’s one thing that should make Outlander even more fantastic, it’s throwing a dog into the mix.

Expect to see Rollo often in the first batch of episodes, given that the dog has been spotted working with the cast in Scotland. There’s probably been more Rollo sightings overall than any actor other than Caitriona Balfe or Sam Heughan. We don’t quite think that Rollo is going to be ready for the sudden surge of fame!

Discussing the current Emmy odds

For those who aren’t aware, we’ve been working more actively on YouTube over the past week or two in order to provide some additional sources of news and insight. The new video we shared on Friday was a discussion about the current state of Outlander and its Emmy odds — we’ve previously discussed this in article form, but this is another way to break down the field and where both Caitriona and Sam stand, in addition to the show itself. Things will likely change over the next few weeks, but this is where things stand at the moment. We’ll have more updates as we get closer to campaign season.
