Outlander video: See Caitriona Balfe – Late Late Show appearance

Outlander season 3 episode 9 photos

Tonight in Ireland, Outlander star Caitriona Balfe followed up her recent IFTA win with an appearance on the country’s edition of The Late Late Show. It’s a funny interview, but also an insightful one in some ways that you may not have expected.

Take, for example, learning how Sylvester Stallone apparently had an issue with how tall she was. One of the experiences that she shared during the show was that while she was working on the movie Escape Plan, Stallone referred to her as a “giraffe” — while he may have said it in jest, someone still suggested to her to remove her heels (and eventually she did). She also discusses her early life and career, modeling, and also working alongside Michael Caine as a surprising love interest.

One of the things that CarterMatt found really great about this interview is that if you’re not altogether familiar with Balfe’s life story, there actually is a lot of ground covered in this interview in a relatively short period of time. It’s also rather reminiscent of a podcast interview in that way where you get to really dive into the person’s life in addition to also learning a little bit about their work.

If you are looking for specific Outlander scoop, however, you’re probably going to be disappointed. The interview covers a little bit of the show’s central premise and then also the sex scenes — a typical talking point for shows like this. We will say that it was a little more of a thoughtful discussion of these scenes than we tend to get on some of these shows.

You can see a small video of Balfe’s appearance on the series below; meanwhile, you can visit the link here to see the video in full. We’re above all else just happy that there was a Caitriona interview to even write about today, given the fact that season 4 is currently in production and with that, there are not often many opportunities to really write about appearances that are taking place with some of the cast on TV. This was mostly a product of Balfe being in the right place at the right time with the IFTA Awards going on.
