The Good Doctor finale script already written — prepare for drama

Good Doctor episode 2 ratings

While we’re going to be waiting for many weeks still to actually see The Good Doctor finale on ABC, know this: The script for this episode has already been officially written!

This news was confirmed recently via the show’s official writers room, and we’ve got a pretty good feeling that the season will conclude with something resembling a cliffhanger. That’s something that we’ve seen a few times over already, and with that, we imagine that there are a few different ways in which the show could decide to wrap things up. They could opt to tie up the show with some sort of huge change in Shaun Murphy’s professional life, or they could open things up in his personal life in an interesting way. There’s talk that Lea may return by the end of the season, and given how he clearly seems to feel about her there’s a good reason why we could end up seeing him do something still in the name of love — even if he didn’t previously.

It’s also possible that the finale could contain some sort of surprise that is actually related to one of the other characters and not so much Shaun himself. This would be an interesting way to change things up that we would not expect going into the episode airing.

In the end, what we probably want to see more so than just about anything else is just an ending that is reflective of the entire first season of The Good Doctor so far. We want something that has a little bit of optimism, but also gives you a reason still to feel something and crank up the waterworks. Probably the worst thing about it is simply because there’s going to be a pretty long wait between now and when the series returns presumably in the fall.
