Chicago Fire season 6: Stitchers’ Damon Dayoub to play Jake Cordova

Damon Dayoub

Will Chicago Fire season 6 be establishing a prominent new firefighter by the end of the spring? It’s a little early to say if Jake Cordova will be a permanent new addition to the series but, for now he is certainly going to have a role to play.

According to a report coming in via Deadline, Damon Dayoub (who played Quincy for three seasons on Freeform’s Stitchers) is going to be appearing across multiple episodes as the character. He’s described as a tough guy and a total “man’s man,” but there aren’t too many other details released as of yet.

Chicago Fire does have a tendency of bringing in potential new Firehouse 51 members during the season, especially later on the spring. We had this happen with Stella Kidd a couple of years back, and that ended up leading to her having a more permanent role in the firehouse. Meanwhile, on the other side of that you had Kammell last season, who didn’t end up sticking around and practically disappeared like a ghost. These sort of castings can go either way but it is important to bring in new firefighters here and there. It’s a nice reflective of real-life firefighters where people do have a tendency to come and go for a wide array of different reasons.

For the time being, CarterMatt’s pre-show prediction for this Jake Cordova character is that he’s not going to be the most likable guy in the firehouse, largely because of the fact that when a character is described as type-A often they have a tendency to come across as very egocentric and full of themselves. If he does in fact act this way, it could spell a hard time for him as he tries to make friends both at the firehouse and outside of it.
