The X-Files season 11 episode 7 video: Attack of the drones

Are you prepared at all for The X-Files season 11 episode 7? Unfortunately, if you are it’s not going to help the show hurry things along at all. The X-Files is poised to return with all-new episodes to Fox on Wednesday, February 28, right at the tail end of the Olympics. When it’s back, it looks as though it will be doing so with one of the stranger episodes that we’ve seen.

As for what is going to be happening here, think drones — plenty of drones. It almost seems as though the drones are coming to life and we have the beginnings of a vast, dangerous robot revolution. This probably isn’t what is actually going on here; instead, there’s probably some element of reality in someone controlling all of these drones and the like to go haywire. There’s actually something quite terrifying about matching all of these machines come to life and right at Mulder and Scully — it’s probably in part the sentiment that we may not be all that far off from this being real life. We can easily envision some sort of insanity like this taking place if someone starts to have the capacity to control tech on a vast, sinister scale.

We’ll actually admit that there’s a part of us that is reminded more of Black Mirror than The X-Files now that we are writing all of it down. That show loves to remind you almost constantly that technology is the bane of all existence.

The most harrowing news of all

There are only four episodes left this season — and potentially in the series as a whole. We’re still operating under the assumption that the show will end following the exit of Gillian Anderson, so there are many loose ends that still need to be addressed with William being one of the biggest ones. Hopefully, the writers put a plan in place months ago to come up with the best conclusion possible.
