Outlander notes: A warm welcome and a soundtrack release

Outlander season 4 - Outlander notes

Ready for a morning dose of Outlander notes? We’ll have the latest edition in our show perspectives series a little bit later this week, but for the time being we’ve got a couple of other things that we want to discuss.

First, how about the welcome message from Ainsley Jordan? CarterMatt reported yesterday that the TV newcomer was going to be appearing on the series as Judith Wylie, sister to Phillip Wylie who could be involved in some notable scenes. We’re interested to see how Judith factors into the story; for now, we’re just happy to see via her post on Twitter that she’s excited to be there and be a part of the show this year.

It’s always fun to see the warm welcome any new actor receives on Outlander, given that they are being ushered into one of the kindest, most-supportive followings on all of TV. We find that Outlander fans are eager to welcome new actors into the community and this is a great way in which to kick-start your career. Viewers will follow you from this to other shows and feature films in the future.

Hopefully, there will be more to say on both Judith and Phillip in the future.

The Outlander season 3 soundtrack is officially in stores!

Just in case you want to get some more of the excellent music from one Bear McCreary, you’re finally going to get an opportunity to do that now. The soundtrack for the third season is now available at online retailers, as confirmed by McCreary himself online. There’s a lot of great music of course in this collection, and what we love especially about the music from the third season is that you’re getting a lot of different styles and dimensions of music rolled into one package. Scotland of course has a sound that is very different from the Caribbean, and we are certainly intrigued by how all of this could shape and morph itself once more in America.

Of course, it’s a little too early to talk about a possible Outlander season 4 soundtrack release date — let’s focus on the series itself for now.
