Grey’s Anatomy season 14 spoilers: The aftermath of Bailey’s heart attack

Bailey’s heart attack was a central plot point in this past episode of Grey’s Anatomy season 14 and, based on most of what CarterMatt is hearing at the moment, it is going to continue to be involved in the story. This doesn’t mean that Bailey will remained stuck in a hospital bed somewhere, but signs do point to her having to think about what’s happened to her as she continues to do some of her work as a doctor. It would be reckless for her not to!

Speaking on this subject more in a new interview with TV Guide, Chandra Wilson offered up a sense as to what some of her character’s thinking could be as she recovers:

“I think from this point on, after having a heart-related experience, you’re always a little uber cautious. You’re paying attention a little bit more because you may [have not] in the past and I’m anxious to incorporate that into Miranda’s behavior.”

Of course, we don’t exactly think that you are going to see a COMPLETELY different version of Bailey; she just needs to figure out how to have a little more balance in her life. She has more stress on her being in charge of the hospital doctors than almost anyone, and add to that her husband getting into a dangerous job and her barely taking any time for herself. We think that she is comfortable working a lot, but there is a pretty clear difference between working long hours and then working yourself to the bone (as a business owner, we know this all too well). We’re clearly starting to think that Bailey is doing a little bit more of the latter.

We really feel as though we are going to see more of Bailey’s story scattered throughout many of the other episodes that are coming up on Grey’s Anatomy this season. She’s got a role to play, but don’t expect to see her dominating the spotlight like she just did in the immediate future.
