This Is Us Super Bowl episode start time delayed — due to football, obviously
Prior to the start of the Super Bowl, the plan was for the episode to air at around 10:15 p.m. Eastern time. However, there were frequent warnings throughout the night and even before to leave extra time on your DVR just in case the game ran long — which it often does for obvious reasons. Football is wild and unpredictable.
Typically, we don’t think there are that many people who really care as to when the post-Super Bowl episode of a show airs, but this one is clearly different. This is the most important episode in the history of This Is Us, given that this is the episode where we are seemingly going to have a chance to learn, once and for all, how the character of Jack dies.
The one reason why the episode being delayed is that obviously, it could hurt the show’s ratings the longer that it is delayed. After all, you just have to remember that the later it gets, the more some viewers outside of the This Is Us faithful are going to go to bed. (Meanwhile, we feel like there are going to be a lot of people who are going to be watching the show and then finding an excuse to call in sick to work the next day.)
Once there is a more precise time for the This Is Us Super Bowl episode, we’ll be sure to let you know. For now, though, we’re thinking it’s going to be at least 15-20 minutes late and likely even later unless Philadelphia really manages to bungle the remainder of the game.
