Percy is leaving NCIS: New Orleans; how can producers write her out?
So how does the show write Percy out? That is the next order of business, and the first question that you have to wonder here is whether or not the producers have already set that up somewhat.
While things were looking somewhat-hopeful for Percy and LaSalle earlier this season, one of the most-recent episodes certainly caused a setback. LaSalle got back in contact with Rachel Modine following his father’s death, and it seems like the two have more than just a professional connection. He also basically referred to Percy as a “co-worker” right in front of her … which is harsh, to say the least. We also did recently see Percy have a connection of her own to Jake Roman, her former flame within the ATF, earlier this season.
Obviously, to claim that these characters are motivated by romance and romance alone is pretty darn disrespectful to who they are as people. Nonetheless, we do think that personalities and people often play a role in the decisions that you decide to make. We could easily imagine Percy going back to ATF, not thinking that the NCIS office in New Orleans held anything more for her. There aren’t many chances for career advancement at the moment and she may get another opportunity elsewhere.
The one thing we absolutely don’t want to see is a situation where Percy is killed off. This is a character who is too beloved by people, and we still want to hope that there is a chance that she could return at some point down the line. She doesn’t need to become the NCIS: New Orleans version of Caitlin Todd.
