The X-Files season 11 episode 6 preview: Skinner’s past comes back

Are you excited for The X-Files season 11 episode 6 to air on Fox in one week’s time? You should be if you are a fan of Walter Skinner’s — we’re getting set to see the biggest episode of the season for him to date!

There is something rather comical about this episode on the surface, and much of that starts with the name of the episode: “Kitten.” We’ve come to know Skinner as this confident, bold, and intellectual character, and with that we find there to be something super-comical about an episode with such a benign name. How that title relates to this story should prove very much interesting.

Take a look at the X-Files season 11 episode 6 synopsis to understand a little bit more as to what this upcoming story is and just how we could be seeing Skinner’s life changed in a fairly significant manner:

Skinner goes AWOL when his past comes back to haunt him. As Mulder and Scully try to track him down, their growing mistrust of him reaches its apex in the all-new “Kitten” episode of THE X-FILES airing Wednesday, Feb. 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

For those wondering, The X-Files season 11 episode 6 is in fact the episode that will bring you Haley Joel Osment in a mysterious role. The quick assumption to make is that he will be playing someone with ties to Skinner’s past, but it’s probably not fair to jump to too many assumptions. We just love the fact that the actor, best known still for doing The Sixth Sense as a child, is coming on board a show that is basically for television what The Sixth Sense was for movies. We also love that we’ve got the space to get a Skinner episode through these ten episodes — we understand that there may not be a season 12 and with that, you want to get as much of Mulder and Scully as possible. We do too. At the same time, it is rather nice to at least have a little bit of time to spend with a different character, someone who is interesting, smart, and compelling in his own right.
