Wynonna Earp season 3: Katherine Barrell takes you inside production
We’ve brought up this first note a few times now, and it almost goes without saying: It’s cold in Calgary. Seriously. It’s really cold. It’s so cold that it’s hard to really do very much, but given that this is a wintry show you really do need to capture some of these conditions.
The image below via Barrell’s Twitter gives you a pretty good sense as to how the cast stays war in between takes — it’s necessarily, since you can really only stay outside in those conditions for so long. Let’s put things in some perspective — as of the time in which we are writing this it is -17 degrees Celsius in Calgary, which translates out to be about 2 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s far from the easiest sort of weather conditions for someone to deal with.
Remember now that Wynonna Earp season 3 filming is going to be taking place until the spring, so the good news here is fairly simple: Things will eventually thaw and the cast is not going to be forced to work in permafrost for the rest of the year.
The second image via Barrell is, by and large, just an amusing reminder that mustache maintenance is an art form in itself. This image features Tim Rozon, who plays Doc on the series, getting a little bit of extra love and care on his ‘stache. That’s probably important to keep it looking nice and fluffy — also, we wonder if there is a good chance of it freezing over in that weather.
Hopefully some of Barrell’s behind-the-scenes teases do help to tide you over for when Wynonna Earp season 3 does premiere a little bit later this year on Syfy in America plus also Space in Canada.
