Black Lightning episode 4 preview: What’s ahead on ‘Black Jesus’

Black Lightning episode 4

What’s coming on Black Lightning episode 4? We’re getting an installment coming up entitled “Black Jesus,” and it really doesn’t take all that long in order to understand why there are such clear religious connotations with this story. Black Lightning is a savior; without him, many innocent people suffer.

For some more news as to what’s coming up, check out the Black Lightning episode 4 synopsis below:

BACK IN TOWN – Black Lightning (Cress Williams) is recruited to rally against The 100 gang. Anissa (Nafessa Williams) investigates the new drug hitting the streets. Meanwhile, familiar faces begin to reappear. Christine Adams, James Remar, Damon Gupton III and Marvin Jones also star. The episode was written by Pat Charles and directed by Michael Schultz (#104). Original airdate 2/6/2018.

This episode should prove to be an interesting culmination to the first few episodes of the season, ones where we’ve started to see Black Lightning get re-accustomed to getting back on the streets and Anissa getting closer to finding some of her calling. She’s someone who is probably going to become even more of a force to be reckoned with as the series continues.

Following this episode, there is going to be at least one more episode in the month of February — right in the middle of the Olympics. There aren’t exactly many shows doing this but one of the reasons why it is has to do simply with the schedule that The CW has set up. They have find a way in order to wrap up the first season in April in order to get some other programming. (It’s not that we mind having more new Black Lightning episodes in February — after all, there are plenty of other nights in which we can check out sports.)

Hopefully in the midst of these episodes airing we’re going to find out some more news on the show’s future. We remain cautiously optimistic about a season 2 renewal based on the ratings that are out there at present.
